Community Spots
Last updated: 2026-10-01
What it does
A photo feed of spots shared by other photographers. Open a spot to see its photos, who shot it, where it is, and how to get there, then save the ones you want to your own pins.
What you need
- A network connection. If the feed cannot load, the screen says so and offers Try again.
- No account to browse. Signed out or on the Free plan, you see the first 10 spots of each sort in full, then 10 locked cards marked Pro and an Upgrade for more button. Pro shows every spot and keeps loading as you scroll.
- Location permission only for the Nearby sort.
- Saving a spot, searching, and filtering by place are part of Pro. Signed out, those ask you to sign in first.
How to use it
- Scroll the feed. Tap a photo to open the spot.
- Tap the sort button and choose Newest or Nearby. Nearby orders spots by distance from where you are and shows how far away each one is. If location access is denied or your location cannot be found, the feed stays on Newest and tells you why.
- With Pro, tap the search button and type in Title, artist or place, or tap Place to narrow the feed by country, state, or city. A place filter shows as a chip; tap its close button to clear it. On the Free plan, Place is marked PRO and opens the upgrade screen.
- Tap the bookmark on a photo to save the spot to My Spots in Location Planner. A saved spot shows as saved.
- Tap a locked card to unlock it with Pro.
Reading the results
A spot's page opens on its photos. Swipe through them, or tap one to view it full screen. The card over the photos shows:
- The spot's name.
- Artist: who shared it.
- Location: the place, plus the distance when you sorted by Nearby.
- Date: when it was added.
- Directions: opens directions in Google Maps.
- Save: copies it into My Spots in Location Planner. It reads Saved once you have it. Your own spots have no Save button.
Scroll down for the Location card: a map, the coordinates, and View in Location Planner, which opens the planner at that spot. On the Free plan that button is marked PRO and opens the upgrade screen.
Tips
- In Location Planner, the Community source shows these same spots on the map (Pro).
